The 2016 SA Festival of Motoring.WRITTEN BY THE EDITOR ON AUGUST 31, 2016. POSTED IN WHEELS
The SA Festival of Motoring brought to you by WesBank is currently on at Kyalami Racetrack.
I went through for a few hours on the opening day and was really impressed with what was on offer. Whether you have a passing interest in cars, or you are a full blown petrolhead, it is a great day out.
All the major manufacturers are there offering all manner of attractions.
VW is showcasing their new 110kW Tiguan TSI.
And they also have a snow slope to slide down to so you can experience some of the fun this car provides after looking at it.
Mercedes have a lot going on in their tent, with the S Coupe AMG stealing the show. Complete with a surround sound start up button, it's a pretty impressive sight.
Mercedes have some rather impressive new models across their range to show off right now, plus the iconic G Class.
The fancy new MINIs are showcased along with some classic old models at the entrance of their enclosure.
Toyota, Nissan, Ford... they are all there with lots on offer, but then things get really exciting when you head down to the pits where BMW, Audi and Mercedes are setup to literally blow you away.
The BMW M4 GTS is something to behold, front and centre among the M cars in the BMW section of the pits. Only 25 of these machines are coming to South Africa, all of which are pre-sold of course.
While you salivate over it, book yourself in for a hot lap with a BMW driver. It's a not to be missed opportunity to experience the new Kyalami track in one of the BMW M cars.
Audi Sport and Mercedes AMG are also running their flagship fast cars alongside BMW, so pick you favourite and spend sometime learning more about the cars.
To bring the heart rate back to normal, a trip upstairs from there will bring you to a really impressive exhibition hall with an amazing selection of super cars and vintage classics.
Bentley is there in full force.
Lamborghini's stand is as eye-catching as ever and features the Aventador.
And Porsche have a rather impressive area with their latest range on display, along with their racing division.
That's enough from me, now to plan your trip there if you are in the Gauteng area.
And for all the info you need around it, exhibitions, special shows, test drive options and entertainment performing, click here.
Oh, and motorbikers, there is some attractions for you as well.
